Saint John Eudes Center (October)
The Center was founded by the Catholic Church to help children and Women from poor communities. It is headed by Sister Francisca and there are over 60 Children from drought hit area in the County of Kitui.
We visited County of in October 2022 because it was one of the most hard hit Counties in Kenya. Children were having one meal per day and it wasn't easy for them.
Through KOOSJ, we were able to buy and deliver cooking oil, Maize, Green Grams, Sacks of Rice, Sack of Beans and Toilet Papers.
We shared the food stuff with poor women around the County and the rest remained in the Center.
Saint Eudes Center Irrigation Project (November)
In November 2022, we visited Saint John Eudes Center through the invitation of Sister Francisca, the Director.
The Center was still under dryspell that had hit the rest of the country. But with the help of a German Company, they were able to dig a Borehole for drinking water and irrigation.
The irrigation project was to ensure the Center is self sufficient in terms of Food supply. They wanted to grow Vegetables and other Crops. Their challenge was Sprinklers and Hose pipes to help with Irrigation.
We bought Durable Hose Pipes and Garden Sprinklers. The Rest of the Funds were used in Purchasing several Bundles of Maize Flour and Rice for the Center.
Bethsaida in Nairobi County and Blessings Home in Machakos County (December)
This was definitely the Month of the Christmas Holiday. We decided to visit two of the Homes that were highly affected in terms of Food Shortages, Bethsaida in Nairobi County and Blessings Home in Machakos County.
My first visit was to Blessings Children's Home. The home is located in Machakos County and was founded by a Lady called Susan Miriti. The Home has 56 Kids, though most of them had gone to see their relatives at the time of our Visit.
They were going through food shortage because the Children were many and food was scarce.
We've severally visited this home in the past. They were facing food shortage as well as shelter. They had to demolish their old building because it was risk to them.
The Home was founded by Julia Hika and they operate the home with her family. There are 38 children at the moment.
The Home is located in Nairobi.
